Merthyr has a soild history within the sport of Boxing. From past heroes like Howard Winston, Johnny Owen and Eddie Thomas Merthyr has produced names that even today makes the chest swell and brings a tear to the eye.
Kerry Hope is now the new name in Welsh boxing and comes from the championship stable of legend Joe Calzaghe. Hailing from Merthyr Tydfil Kerry aims to be a new addition to this long line of boxing heroes as he climbs the ladder towards the big time and possibly a world title shot.
